Dear Students & Parents/Guardians of the Hollinger community,

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year. My name is Mr. T.J. Rodriquez, and I am extremely excited to serve the Hollinger Community as your new Principal! I am a native Tucsonan, a former athlete and coach, and a lifelong educator with 20+ years of experience in and out of the classroom. I am thrilled for the opportunity to build the school’s vision and mission together with all stakeholders. Please know that I will always value and invite your input. Building an individualized and rigorous educational experience for your child will always be the top priority.

I am a graduate of the University of Arizona where I received degrees in Mexican-American Studies and Elementary Education K-8. I received my master’s degree in Educational Leadership through NAU. I also hold an endorsement in Gifted Education. I have experience teaching grades K-12 in multiple subjects spending most of my time teaching 5th grade. I have spent the past 3 years as an Assistant Principal where I got to experience many different aspects of leadership working with 4th-8th grade students and staff at Gallego Intermediate.

At Hollinger, your child will benefit from working with a staff of caring and highly competent educators who are masters in the field that they instruct. Your child will be supported and encouraged to follow their passions. As the school’s educational leader, I will support the teachers by spending time in classrooms, working with Professional Learning Communities, and utilizing data to drive the instruction. My strength lies in building positive relationships with students and staff. Within the first 90 days of this school year I plan on gathering information about the school’s culture and building those relationships with all stakeholders.

I am hopeful that I can bring in some innovation to add to the great traditions and systems this school and the community already has in place. I am thrilled to begin my journey as a principal at such a great school. I am ecstatic to learn along with your children, and to work with all of you. Estimados estudiantes, padres/tutores de la comunidad de Hollinger,

Bienvenidos al año escolar 2022-2023. Mi nombre es Sr. T.J. Rodríquez , ¡estoy muy emocionado de servir a la comunidad de Hollinger como su nuevo director! Soy

nativo de Tucson, ex atleta y entrenador, y educador de toda la vida con más de 20

años de experiencia dentro y fuera del aula. Estoy emocionado por la oportunidad de construir la visión y la misión de la escuela junto con todas las partes interesadas. Por favor sepan que siempre valoraré sus aportes. Construir una experiencia individualizada y educativamente rigurosa para su hijo siempre será la máxima prioridad.

Soy graduado de la Universidad de Arizona donde obtuve títulos en Estudios México-Americanos y Educación Primaria K-8. Recibí mi maestría de Liderazgo Educativo por la NAU. También tengo una especialidad en Educación para estudiantes superdotados. Tengo experiencia enseñando los grados K-12 en múltiples materias, y la mayor parte de mi experiencia laboral enseñando quinto grado. Los últimos 3 años serví como Subdirector en la secundaria Gallego, en donde tuve la oportunidad de experimentar distintos aspectos del trabajo de liderazgo con estudiantes y personal de 4to -8avo grado.

En Hollinger, su hijo se beneficiará de trabajar con un personal atento y

educadores altamente competentes que son experimentados en el campo que instruyen. Su niño será apoyado y alentado a seguir sus pasiones. Como el líder educativo de la escuela, apoyaré a los maestros pasando tiempo en las aulas,

trabajando con comunidades de aprendizaje profesional y utilizando datos para impulsar la enseñanza. Mi fortaleza radica en construir relaciones positivas con los estudiantes y personal. Dentro de los primeros 90 días de este año escolar planeo recopilar información sobre la cultura de la escuela y la construcción de esas relaciones con todas las partes interesadas.

Tengo la esperanza de poder aportar algo de innovación para agregar a las grandes tradiciones y sistemas que esta escuela y la comunidad ya tienen implementados. Estoy emocionado de empezar mi travesía como director de tan buena escuela. Estoy ansioso de aprender junto con sus hijos, y trabajar con todos ustedes. Gracias por permitirme ser parte de este momento importante en la educación de su hijo.
